Terms of Service

1. These terms

These terms govern your use of strove.co.za as a client — someone looking to find, enquire about, book, or pay for services. The platform is operated by Strove Group (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2026/540385/07) ("Strove", "we", "us").

By using the site, sending an enquiry, making a booking, or making a payment, you agree to these terms. Service providers who list or claim a business on Strove are governed by separate merchant terms.

2. What Strove is (and is not)

Strove is a marketplace that connects you with independent local service providers. We help you discover providers, request quotes, arrange bookings, communicate through one channel, and pay securely.

Service providers are independent businesses. They are not employees, agents, or partners of Strove. The provider — not Strove — is responsible for performing the service you book, for the quality of that work, and for any warranties over it.

3. Who may use Strove

You must be 18 years or older to use Strove. When you create an account or make a booking you must give accurate, current information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

4. Enquiries, quotes, and bookings

An enquiry or quote request is not a booking. A booking is confirmed only when we confirm it to you, together with the price and any deposit or payment terms.

Cancellation and rescheduling terms are communicated at the time of booking. Where a cancellation fee applies, it will be stated before you confirm.

5. Payments

Payments on Strove are processed securely by our accredited payment provider and settle directly to the service provider you are paying. Strove facilitates the transaction but is not the merchant of record.

Strove never asks you to pay a provider directly or to send payment details over WhatsApp. If you receive a payment request that does not come through the platform, treat it as fraudulent and report it to support@strove.africa.

Your card details are handled by the payment provider and are never stored by Strove.

6. Communication

Communication about your enquiries, quotes, bookings, and payments happens between you and Strove — including on WhatsApp. This keeps a single, verifiable record of what was agreed and is part of how we protect you.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the platform for anything unlawful; harass or abuse providers or Strove staff; post false, misleading, or defamatory content; attempt to bypass the platform to avoid fees after being introduced to a provider through Strove; interfere with the operation or security of the site; or scrape or copy platform content at scale.

8. Listings and reviews

Business listings on Strove are compiled from information provided by businesses and from publicly available sources. We work to keep listings accurate but do not guarantee that every detail is current. If you leave a review, it must reflect your genuine experience; we may remove content that violates these terms.

9. Intellectual property

The Strove name, brand, site design, and platform content belong to Strove Group (Pty) Ltd or its licensors. You may use the site for personal, non-commercial purposes; you may not copy, modify, or redistribute platform content without our written permission.

10. Disclaimers and liability

We provide the platform with reasonable skill and care, but the site is provided "as is" and we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

To the maximum extent the law allows, Strove is not liable for the acts or omissions of independent service providers, or for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the platform. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other laws that cannot be excluded.

If you have a problem with a service booked through Strove, contact us at support@strove.africa — because payments run through the platform, we can assist with disputes in ways that direct arrangements cannot.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information and forms part of these terms.

12. Changes and termination

We may update these terms from time to time; the latest version will always be on this page and material changes will be communicated on the site. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms. You may stop using Strove, or ask us to delete your account, at any time.

13. General

These terms are governed by South African law, and South African courts have jurisdiction over disputes. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
